Gauze in woman’s belly after Cesarean

Doctors treating a Saudi woman suffering from severe abdominal pain found a piece of medical gauze two weeks after she delivered in a Cesarean operation at another hospital in the Gulf kingdom, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

Abdullah Rashidi said he rushed his wife to hospital after she started to suffer from excruciating pains in her abdomen following the operation at another hospital in the western Saudi town of Medina.

“Doctors told me that they found a piece of gauze inside my wife’s abdomen…they said the piece was forgotten by doctors who performed the Cesarean operation…this is a serious medical error and I call on authorities to punish those responsible,” he said.
