How about an apartment with personal cook and cleaner for only Dhs70,000 a year?

A Dubai developer is trying to bring luxury living to the masses – by building apartments where a personal cook and cleaner, as well as TV, internet and utility bills, are all included in your rent.

Oh, and you pay monthly. Safi Qurashi, the CEO of property firm Q Group and the man who is also developing Great Britain on The World islands, revealed details of the apartments, which are being built in Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC) and Motor City, on the eve of Cityscape Global, the mammoth property exhibition in Dubai that starts today.

He said the apartments are meant to give “affordable luxury”, with rent prices estimated to be in line with other apartments in the area.

For example, Qurashi said, a one-bedroom apartment should cost about Dhs70,000 to Dhs80,000 per year to rent.

Qurashi said: “Maybe if you’re single, it would be nice if you could phone a couple of hours before you get off work and speak to your personal cook and say this is what I want. “You know that, financially, if I just pay this amount – my furnishings, electricity, internet, TV, cleaning, cooking is all included. And this is something we are going to do.”

The project in Motor City will include more than 250 residential units and a little more than 150 in JVC, which are due to go on sale once they are 50 per cent complete late next year.

Qurashi said: “We want to be known as a company that improves people’s living standards. So, if I can make a hundred million dirhams from a building, I decide that I’ll make ninety million dirhams because I put ten back in.”
