Husband smacks wife in public on finding she is single on Facebook
A man from another Gulf country smacked his wife in a crowded shopping mall in Sharjah after discovering she wrote that she is single on her Facebook page.
The 28-year-old man was shopping with his Arab wife, 24, when he went to have coffee at a restaurant in the mall, where he started to surf Facebook pending her return.
“When his wife returned, he immediately started to swear at her before assaulting her in the middle of the mall,” the Arabic language daily Al Khaleej said.
“She told him she mentioned that she is single to joke with her female friends but he did not believe her and hit her…the wife called the police and had him arrested.”
