Dubai’s Shindagha Tunnel to close from midnight tomorrow
Tunnel to be closed from Bur Dubai to Deira side until 6am Saturday for maintenance work
Shindagha Tunnel will be partially closed from tomorrow midnight until Saturday morning for maintenance work, announced the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The tunnel will be closed between midnight Friday [August 22, 2014] and 6am, Saturday [August 23] for regular maintenance of roads inside the tunnel, reported Al Bayan.
Traffic from Bur Dubai direction will be diverted to other side, said Maitha bin Udai, CEO, Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA, was quoted as saying.
Maintenance work demands complete closure of the tunnel in the direction from Bur Dubai to Deira, she added and called upon motorists to co-operate and abide by speed limits and traffic signs.
