Woman dies after being hit by car in Sharjah

Sharjah: A woman died on the spot after being hit by a car on Maleiha Road on Monday night, a Sharjah Police official said.

According to the official, the Nepali victim was crossing the road at 8pm when she was hit by the car which had a Dubai licence plate.

Police and paramedics found the victim lying in a pool of blood. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was moved to Kuwait Hospital.

The driver who hit her has been taken into custody for questioning.
