Five held for damaging and burgling shops in Sharjah

The police have urged commercial outlets to instal CCTV cameras and early detection alarm systems to link their premises with that of the police operation room to prevent crimes. 


The Sharjah Police have arrested five Pakistani nationals for a spate of burglaries in various parts of the emirate. The suspects allegedly forced open the outlets before burgling them.



A top official at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Sharjah Police said the Sharjah Industrial Area police station received many complaints from owners of outlets about theft and damage to their shops.
A team of officers zeroed down on a Pakistani suspect and arrested him. He denied the charges initially.
However, when he was confronted with evidence, he reportedly confessed and led the officers to his accomplices.
In coordination with the Dubai Police, the police team located the residence of the suspects and raided it, where a number of stolen mobile phones and other valuables were recovered.
