Sheikh Hamdan reaches two million followers on Twitter

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has reached two million followers on Twitter on his official handle @HamdanMohammed.
This feat makes him one of the most followed leaders in the UAE after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (@HHShkMohd), Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who leads the way with 6.84 million followers.
As one of the most influential leaders in the region, Sheikh Hamdan joined Twitter in March 2010, and uses the platform to discuss policies and various initiatives undertaken by the government, such as the launch of the tram and  Dubai 2021 Plan.
As Dubai looks to position itself as a hub for innovation in the region with the vision to become a fully connected smart city leading up to EXPO 2020, Sheikh Hamdan’s Twitter feed provides a unique behind-the-scenes insight into planning and execution of various initiatives, while also showcasing his love for the country.
Kinda Ibrahim, Director of Media Partnerships at Twitter Mena, commented on this milestone stating: “We are happy to see that Twitter is a platform that connects visionary leaders to their followers from across the globe, and we look forward to continuously enhancing our platform to bridge any gap between them”.
