Things to do in the UAE today: Rugby Sevens, comedy show and Water for Workers project

Tickets for one of the biggest events on Dubai’s social calendar go on sale today. The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens attracts the world’s best players and more than 100,000 people are expected to attend this year’s event, which will be particularly competitive as the top four finishers in the men’s and women’s IRB competitions will secure a place in the 2016 Olympic Games. But if you can’t wait until December, there’s always the inaugural Launch Party, taking place on Friday at Meydan Beach. The event features highlight videos, music and entertainment by cheerleaders, as well as prizes. Entrance is free. Over 21s only. See dubairugby7s.com.
